Background
Tony Susnick has been immersed in music nearly his entire life. Growing up listening to his mother play classical to modern day piano at home, he developed an early appreciation for melody and musicianship. By the age of eight he had picked up the guitar while still exploring piano, beginning what would become a lifelong passion for learning and performing music.
Much of Tony’s musical foundation came from listening to the full albums his older brother played throughout the 1970s. While many listeners knew the hits, Tony absorbed the deeper tracks that helped define the classic rock era, shaping his ear for tone, arrangement, and song structure.
Tony formed his first band in junior high and was already performing professionally in clubs by his senior year of high school. Over the years he has played in numerous bands throughout the Kentuckiana region and has appeared as an opening act for national recording artists Rick Derringer, Head East, Jefferson Starship, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
Known for studying the details of iconic recordings, Tony enjoys breaking down classic guitar parts to capture the feel and authenticity of the originals while still bringing his own personality and playing style to the music. After spending more than two decades living in Kentucky, he recently returned to Indiana and is currently working on a classic rock project with noted regional singer Kathleen Hoye.
